A first renewable propane project in Quebec

The Quebec Propane Association (AQP) announces the launch of a very first renewable propane pilot project in Quebec. This pilot project aims to demonstrate the energy and environmental performance of renewable propane.

Through a partnership with Oberon Fuel, Covris Coopérative used this new renewable energy source for its grain drying operations.

Although this innovation is a first in Quebec, renewable propane is already well established in Europe and several American states.

Filgo’s implication

The propane transported contains renewable dimethyl ether (rDME) and traveled from its production in California to Quebec. It finished its journey on our railway, the Chemin de fer Lanaudière, was transferred to our trucks by our teams and was distributed to our client Covris Coopérative for grain drying.

It is an honor for Filgo, as a member of the AQP, to participate in this project which will have a significant impact for all propane distributors in Quebec. This is a step forward that will allow us to serve our customers better, meet the growing needs of the market and participate in Quebec’s energy transition.
